Public Works
The Public Works Department consists of the Public Works Director and Public Works Workers. The department generally works Monday - Friday 7:30am to 3:30pm and also during evening and weekend hours during emergencies.
In the fall of 2007, the City Council approved construction of the new Public Works Building. This building is used to house all of the necessary equipment to help maintain the streets, parks, sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems.
This building will also provide a nice office space for the Public Works Department to help maintain an accurate records system for all reporting requirements as well as future projects and needs.
Public Works' main responsibilities are to provide a safe and up-to-date street system and the maintenance of all City parks. The Department works year-round in activities such as, but not limited to, street sweeping, park mowing/maintenance, right-of-way upkeep, snow and ice removal, and preparing for festivities and events. The department is also responsible for maintaining and developing a safe and reliable sanitary sewer system.
