Community Development
The Community Development Department is responsible for managing the physical and economic growth of the City of Janesville. This department oversees the planning, development, implementation, and enforcement for all projects or issues relating to planning and zoning, economic development, and building code enforcement. The Community Development Department governs these entities by adhering to the City Comprehensive Land Use Plan, Zoning Code, Subdivision Ordinance, and State Building Code.
